I begin my process with a photograph, usually architectural in nature. These photos are then turned into silkscreens. Then, I alternate encaustic paint and layer with silk-screened images. The silkscreened images created the bones or structure to the soft and unpredictable encaustic. The transparent nature of the encaustic allows you to see through and into all the layers of my work.
